Fuel Rail: Service and Repair
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove upper intake manifold and throttle body assembly.
a. Disconnect electrical connectors from air bypass valve, throttle position sensor and air charge temperature sensor.
b. Disconnect throttle link from ball stud, then remove throttle cable bracket.
c. Disconnect upper intake manifold connectors and disconnect vacuum lines from front and rear of upper manifold including EGR valve and fuel pressure regulator vacuum lines.
d. Disengage PCV hose retaining clip and remove PCV hose from under manifold.
e. Remove EGR tube-to-throttle body bolts and position tube away from throttle body.
f. Remove upper manifold bolts and remove manifold and throttle body as an assembly from lower intake manifold.
3. Disconnect fuel line from fuel supply manifold using spring lock coupling disconnecting tool T81P-19623-G or equivalent.
4. Disconnect fuel line and vacuum line from pressure regulator.
5. Remove electrical connectors from injectors.
6. Remove fuel supply manifold bolts and remove fuel supply manifold and injectors as an assembly.
7. Reverse procedure to install. Note the following:
a. Ensure injector recesses in fuel supply manifold are free of contamination.
b. Torque fuel supply manifold bolts to 76-88 inch lbs.
c. Torque upper intake manifold bolts to 11-15 ft. lbs.
d. Torque upper intake manifold bolts to 11-15 ft. lbs.
