Fuel Injector: Service and Repair

1. Perform steps 1 through 6 under ``Fuel Supply Manifold'' replace procedure.
2. Remove injector-to-fuel supply manifold retaining clip.
3. Remove injector(s) by grasping injector body and pulling up while gently rocking injector from side to side.
4. Inspect injector ``plastic hat'' (covering injector pintle) and washer for signs of deterioration, replacing as necessary. If plastic hat is missing, look for it in lower intake manifold.
5. Reverse procedure to install, Always use new injector O-rings and retaining clips and be sure injector recesses in supply manifold are free of contamination.
