Heater Core: Service and Repair
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Drain cooling system, then disconnect heater hoses from heater core.
3. Carefully blow compressed air into heater core to remove residual coolant.
4. Remove heater core water connector cover plate and gasket from bulkhead.
5. Remove center console and bracket, then the gear shift boot if equipped.
6. Remove vent nozzle bezel, then the instrument cluster finish panel and panel pad.
7. Remove glove box and ashtray.
8. Remove radio assembly as previously described.
9. Remove ECA and anti-lock brake modules.
10. Remove lower right hand instrument panel trim plate.
11. Disconnect hoses on heater housing from demister and fresh air vent nozzles.
12. Remove center fresh air vent nozzle hose and Bowden cables from heater housing.
13. Disconnect rear heater system hoses from heater housing.
14. Disconnect electrical connectors from discharge temperature sensor and actuator temperature and distribution flaps.
15. Remove two heater assembly attaching nuts and the heater assembly.
16. Remove heater core attaching screws and the heater core.
17. Reverse procedure to install.
