RIGHT SIDE
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove heat shield attaching bolts and the heat shield, Fig. 3.
3. Remove exhaust pipe attaching bolts and the exhaust pipe.
4. Unfasten and remove Thermactor pipe, if equipped, from manifold.
5. Remove exhaust manifold attaching bolts and the manifold.
6. Reverse procedure to install. Torque manifold attaching bolts to 20-30 ft. lbs., Thermactor air pipe attaching bolts to 17-25 ft. lbs. and exhaust pipe attaching bolts to 26-29 ft. lbs.

LEFT SIDE
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove EGR valve-to-manifold attaching bolts, Fig. 4.
3. Remove EGR tube attaching screws and disconnect tube from throttle body.
4. Remove manifold heat shield attaching bolts and the heat shield.
5. Raise and support vehicle.
6. Remove exhaust manifold-to-exhaust pipe attaching nuts.
7. Remove bolts attaching Thermactor air pipe, if equipped, to manifold.
8. Remove exhaust manifold attaching nuts and the manifold.
9. Reverse procedure to install. Torque manifold nuts to 20-30 ft. lbs., Thermactor air pipe attaching bolts to 17-25 ft. lbs. and exhaust pipe attaching bolts to 26-29 ft. lbs.
