Lever and Adapter Assembly

Shift Linkage:

REMOVAL
1. Remove shift knob by pulling upward. Remove console and bezel assembly. Disconnect control cable assembly from selector lever and housing assemblies.
2. Remove lever, adapter and housing assemblies.
3. Unscrew lever and adapter assembly pivot nut. Remove pivot bolt.
4. Pull selector lever assembly out of selector housing.
5. Remove pivot bushings from lever and adapter assembly.

INSTALLATION
1. Install pivot bushings into lever and adapter assembly. Apply Multi-Purpose Long-Life Lubricant C1AZ-19590-B or equivalent to lever assembly park pawl, park pawl slot and to bushings.
2. Insert lever and adapter assembly into housing. Align bolt holes.
3. Install pivot bolt and nut. Tighten nut to 18-27 Nm (13-20 ft lb).
4. Install lever and housing assembly.
5. Install control cable assembly, bezel assembly, console and shift knob as outlined.
6. Adjust control linkage. Check transaxle operation in each selector lever detent position.
