EGR Valve: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the EGR Valve-to-EGRC solenoid vacuum hose.
3. Disconnect the Exhaust Gas Recirculation Temperature (EGRT) electrical connector, if equipped.
4. Remove the EGR pipe from the back of the EGR valve.
5. Remove the two Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve nuts and the EGR valve.
- Remove and discard the gasket.
INSTALLATION
1. Install a new gasket. Position the EGR valve on the intake plenum.
2. Install the EGR nuts. Tighten the EGR valve nuts to 13-16 Nm (9-12 ft lb).
3. Install the EGR pipe onto the EGR valve.
4. Connect the EGRT electrical connector, if equipped.
5. Connect the EGR Valve-to-EGRC solenoid vacuum hose.
6. Connect the negative battery cable.
