COMAND, general
The COMAND controller unit (A40/3) is the central control for the entertainment and communication systems integrated into the vehicle.
The COMAND controller unit contains the following subfunctions, which are described in separate documents:

- Radio mode (FM/AM)
- DVD/CD audio and video function
- Music Register
- Bluetooth(R) Audio
- Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) function (with code (537) Digital radio)

The displays and menu presentations for the Audio/COMAND display (A40/8) are generated in the COMAND controller unit. The following applications are also displayed in the instrument cluster (A1) at the same time as being displayed in the Audio/COMAND display:

The COMAND controller unit communicates over the Media Oriented System Transport (MOST) with the following control units:

The COMAND controller unit is the communication interface (gateway) between the following CAN systems and MOST:
