Function
The rear air conditioning is controlled via the AAC [KLA] control unit. This is networked with the vehicle electronics via the interior CAN and via the AC-LIN.This in turn makes it possible to incorporate additional climate-relevant influences, in order to improve the regulation quality and to lower power consumption.

The AAC [KLA] control unit reads in the following signals for control:

direct
^ Temperature at the evaporator through the rear air conditioning evaporator temperature sensor
^ Temperature at the air outlets through:
- Left rear air conditioning heat exchanger temperature sensor
- Right rear air conditioning heat exchanger temperature sensor

via interior CAN
^ Circuit status from the EIS [EZS] control unit
^ Operation of the rear air conditioning via the front central operating unit
^ Operation of the rear air conditioning via the upper control panel control unit when operated by the driver/front passenger
^ Operation of the rear air conditioning via the rear AC control unit

To regulate the rear air conditioning, the following components are actuated:

^ Left blending air flap actuator
^ Right blending air flap actuator

Direct
^ Rear auxiliary heating system supply unit
^ Rear blower motor via the rear air conditioning electronic blower controller
^ Rear AC refrigerant shutoff valve
