AZ88.00-P-0001-02TX Convert Front Bumper
1. Mark left inner section (2) and right inner section (3) at the points marked in illustration and cut.
Lower section on inside is an eliminated part
Component Identification:
Shown on left inner section (2)
2. Insert left inner section (2) and right inner section (3) into exterior surface of AMG front apron (1).
For this purpose, slide inner section onto lugs in area of wheelhouse and arrest in area of engine hood connection (arrows)
3. Fasten left inner section (2) and right inner section (3) with 5 C-clamps (7) (left bottom magnified section) each and one securing clamp (8) each.
4. Fasten front fog lamp bracket (4) on left and right to exterior surface of AMG front apron (1) with 9 C-clamps (5) each.
Front fog lamp bracket (4) is different for left and right side.
5. Install 3 sheet metal nuts (6) on front fog lamp bracket (4) each on left and right
Only with headlamp cleaning system (code 600) (SRA)
6.1. Install one washer (9) each on inner shaft for HCS carrier (10) (right bottom magnified section).
7.1. Remove plastic lugs on HCS carrier (10) on left and right with suitable tool (right upper figure, arrows).
8.1. Install HCS carrier (10) on axles in inner section and hook spring (11) in at top right as shown in figure.
HCS carrier (10) is different for left and right side
Without headlamp cleaning system (code 600)
8.2. Insert carrier for HCS cover (headlamp cleaning system) into recesses in left inner section (2) and right inner section (3) with glue
Carrier is different for left and right and is included in parts kit
9. Insert plastic plates (51) into center impact absorber (12) and fasten with adhesive tape.
Plastic plates (51) are different for left and right
10. Clip in clip retainers (15) for vent grille into exterior surface on AMG front apron (arrows)
Openings of clip retainers (15) should point toward the front of the vehicle
11. Insert center impact absorber (12) into AMG front apron
12. Insert right impact absorber (13) and left impact absorber (14) into AMG front apron
Ensure that right impact absorber (13) and left impact absorber (14) are seated correctly in arrest (upper magnified section).
Component Identification:
13.1. Vehicles with Parktronic system (PTS) (code 220)
- Install decoupling ring (19) on all PTS sensors.
- Route PTS wiring harness (17) in present cutouts in impact absorbers according to figure and connect all PTS sensors.
- Clip all PTS sensors into brackets on front aprons (right magnified section, center of illustration).
- Fasten front PTS separation point (X26/27) to left inner section (2) with expansion clip (47).
14. Remove both lugs (magnified section (20) from inner center section (20) with suitable tool
15. Position inner center section (20) in AMG front apron.
Ensure that inner center section (20) is seated correctly in area of engine hood connection on left and right (upper magnified section, arrow)
16. Clip inner center section (20) into AMG front apron (arrows).
17. Fasten inner center section (20) to left and right inner sections with one expansion rivet (23) each on left and right.
18. Press one sleeve (21) each into AMG front apron and inner center section (20) in area of engine hood connection on left and right (upper magnified section).
Remove sleeve (21) from standard bumper.
19.1. Check whether sleeves (22) on left and right mounts on inner center section (20) are seated correctly.
When installing old inner center section (20).
19.2. Press one new sleeve (22) each into left and right mounts on inner center section (20)
When installing new inner center section (20).
20. Glue reinforcement (24) into AMG front apron with hot glue
For this purpose, position reinforcement (24) in AMG front apron and mark position. Then install six approx. 2 cm diameter gluing points on AMG front apron and press on reinforcement (24)
21. Install sheet metal nuts (25) each on left front fog lamp (E5/1) and right front fog lamp (E5/2)
22. Connect wiring harness for fog lamp (26) to left front fog lamp (E5/1) and right front fog lamp (E5/2) and close with seal (28)
Front fog lamp wiring harness (26) should point downward in direction of adjustment screw (29) in installed state.
23. Install one tie strap (27) each on seal (28).
Tie strap (27) should point toward inside with front fog lamp installed (toward vehicle longitudinal axle).
24. Position left front fog lamp (E5/1) and right front fog lamp (E5/2) on front fog lamp bracket (4) from rear and screw on with bolts (30) from front
Do not yet tighten bolts (30). Observe installation position of front fog lamps, adjustment screw (29) should be located at bottom when installed correctly
25. Align left front fog lamp (E5/1) and right front fog lamp (E5/2) with aid of grate (31) in center
Grate (31) is different for left and right side
26. Tighten screws (30).
Fasten grate (31) with bolts (32) on left and right only after adjusting left front fog lamp (E5/1) and right front fog lamp (E5/2) when bumper is installed on vehicle.
27. Fasten one driven plate (33) each to left and right AMG front apron with two aluminum blind rivets (34).
Driven plate (33) is different on left and right side
28. Remove plastic part (arrow, upper magnified section) from driven plates (33) and insert in center with instant glue.
29. Install bracket (36) in catch position 1.
Bracket (36) is different for left and right side
30. Glue shims (37) onto AMG front apron (1)
31. Hook tow eye cover (38) into AMG front apron (1) with check strap (39) and clip in

32.1. Clip both HCS cover (40) into HCS carrier and align in center of AMG front apron (1)
HCS cover (40) should be positioned flush with paneling and have uniform gap all the way around.Proper opening and closing must be ensured.HCS cover (40) is different for left and right side.
Without headlamp cleaning system (code 600)
32.2. Clip HCS cover (40) in carrier into AMG front apron (1)
33. Fasten license plate molding (41) to AMG front apron (1) with 4 bolts
The license plate molding (41) is fastened in the same manner as the standard bumper.
34. Install radiator paneling on AMG front apron (1).
The radiator paneling is installed in the same manner as the standard bumper.
