AR35.20-P-0114-01TX Remove/install spring control arm rubber mount
Special Tools:
Component Identification:
Removing
1 Detach exhaust bracket from rear axle carrier.
2 Remove sleeve (068b) on bracket (068a).
3 Attach extractor and Press-in tool with thrust piece (068c) and press (010h) onto rear axle carrier.
4 Secure press (010h) and thrust piece (068c) by tightening hand wheel (068e).
Pay attention to the chamfer (arrow) on the sleeve (068b), which must lie exactly against the rear axle carrier.
Component Identification:
5 Press rubber mount part of the way out until the thrust piece (068c) lies against the rear axle carrier (arrow). To do this screw in the pressure screw (010k) of the press (010h). If the rubber mount is difficult to move, strike the bracket firmly.
Avoid enlarging the rubber mount outer race by pressing out in advance.
Component Identification:
Pressing-out and pressing-in process of rubber mount
To extend the the piston, screw in the pressure screw (010k) of the press (010h) until piston is fully extended.
This process must be repeated approx. 5 times due to the short stroke of the press (010h)
In order to do this, move the piston back by turning back the pressure screw (010k) and simultaneously tightening the hand wheel (068e).
The spindle of the hand wheel (068e) must always exert a little pressure onto the press (010h) so that the tools cannot fall out.
Component Identification:
6 Insert thrust piece (068d), and press out rubber mount.
Component Identification:
Install
7 Replace sleeve on bracket (068a) by sleeve (068f).
8 Insert rubber mount (6b) into hole in rear axle carrier.
9 Attach extractor and Press-in tool with thrust piece (068g) and press (010h) onto rear axle carrier.
10 Secure press (010h) and thrust piece (068g) by tightening hand wheel (068e).
In the process observe the chamfer (arrow) on the sleeve, it must abut the rear axle carrier exactly.
Component Identification:
11 Press rubber mount into rear axle carrier until the thrust piece (068g) lies against the rear axle carrier (arrow).
