GF00.20-P-2007TX Remaining Distance, Function
GF00.20-P-2007TX Remaining Distance, Function
- MODEL 219.3
The warning threshold for the remaining distance is used to define the earliest mileage at which the vehicle user is provided with an appropriate warning before reaching the service interval that has been calculated by ASSYST PLUS.
The warning threshold for the remaining distance is primarily decisive for the service warning if the remaining distance reaches the service warning threshold before the remaining time. ASSYST takes the engine oil quality into account when calculating the time left to the next service.
The warning threshold for ASSYST PLUS is stored in the central gateway control unit (N93) and can be set with STAR DIAGNOSIS.
The following driving conditions are taken into consideration:
- Cold starts
- Engine speeds
- Short-distance trips
- Oil refilling (engine 113.967 only)
This gives the driver a bonus, which extends the remaining distance and thus the service interval.
Whether the vehicle is actually being driven or whether the engine is idling is also taken into consideration. In order to achieve this, ASSYST is continuously provided with data regarding the vehicle's current operating conditions. The best evaluation is 0.6 km for each actual kilometer driven.
For unfavorable driving distances and conditions (e.g. frequent short-distance runs, many cold starts), the remaining distance, and therefore the service interval, are less than in the event of favorable evaluation (assuming equal quality factors).
The most unfavorable calculation is up to 3 km for each actual kilometer driven.
Display of remaining distance
This is displayed in the multifunction display (A1p13) of the instrument cluster (A1) in either kilometers or miles (depending on what is set):
- At driver's request
- Automatically after reaching the warning threshold after the electronic ignition switch control unit (N73) has been turned to position "Circuit 15 ON" or the engine has been started: The service symbol and the text "Service X in xxx km" are displayed for t = 10 s.
- Automatically after the remaining distance has been driven after the electronic ignition switch control unit (N73) has been turned to position "Circuit 15 ON" or the engine has been started: The service symbol and the display "Perform Service X" appear for t = 10 sec.
- Automatically before and after exceeding the remaining distance by more than 100 km after the electronic ignition switch control unit (N73) has been turned to position "Circuit 15 ON" or the engine has been started: The service symbol and the text "Service X exceeded by xxxx km" are displayed for t = 10 s. In addition, the driver is also informed about this state with a warning tone.
The remaining distance is displayed as standard. However, for drivers of vehicles with low annual mileage, the vehicle's operation time is always being processed in the background, to ensure the drivers are informed of an upcoming service interval.
The remaining distance is compared with the remaining time on a daily basis.
In certain conditions, the display changes over and the remaining time is displayed.
If ASSYST is missing measurements, e.g. due to the failure of a sensor, substitute values stored in the control units are used. A corresponding entry is made in the fault memory of the central gateway control unit (N93).
