REPLACE BRACKETS FOR REAR MUFFLER AT CROSS MEMBER

This service campaign has been initiated because DCAG has determined that on the affected vehicles the brackets for the rear muffler at the cross member may create a rattling noise. Dealer will replace both brackets.

Please review the Effective Serial Number chart located below, and, if necessary, repair the subject vehicles during the vehicle's next service.

Prior to performing this Service Campaign:

^ Please check VMI to insure the vehicle is involved and to determine if the vehicle has been previously repaired.

^ Please review the entire Service Campaign bulletin.

Approximately 252 vehicles are affected.





Effective Serial Number Range

Procedure

1. Remove rear bumper; refer to WIS instructions AR88.20-P-2200Q.








2. Remove old bracket set (A, Figure 1) from cross member. Remove the three bolts (arrows, Figures 1 and 2) holding brackets in place.





3. Install new bracket (A, Figure 3) and retainer bracket (B); install new bolts as shown in Figures 2 and 3 and torque to 25 Nm.

4. Repeat procedure on opposite side of vehicle.

5. Reinstall rear bumper.
