ESP, ABS, and BAS "Defective Visit Workshop" Displayed in Instrument Cluster





If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of the ESP, ABS, and BAS "Defective Visit Workshop" message appearing in the instrument cluster's multifunction display after engine start, and either of the following fault codes stored, perform the following.





1. Remove fuses f29 and f30 (Figure 1) from the right front fuse and relay box (K4017). Reference WIS document GF54.15-P-1256-O2JR up to vehicle production 5/31/2004, or GF54.15-P-1256-02KR as of vehicle production 6/01/2004.

2. Perform a short test and erase fault memory

Note:
Fuse installation into these locations (f29 and f30) is not valid for these engine designations.
