B. Installing the Linear Compensator
1. Install the Tinnermann clip over the hole in the trunk reinforcement rib (A, Figure 5).
2. Install the two M5 x 12 hanging studs into the square holes on the underside of the rain channel by inserting them at an angle and then pressing upward to seat them (B, Figure 5).
3. Thread a M5 flange nut halfway up each stud to serve as holders in the next step.
4. Secure the linear compensator to the bracket with three M4 nuts (Figure 6).
Note:
The M5 nut is not visible in Figure 6 on the compensator side secured by a sole nut.
5. Connect the power cable to the linear compensator (A, Figure 7).
6. Connect the male connector to the linear compensator jack labeled "PORTABLE" (B, Figure 7).
7. Connect the female connector to the linear compensator jack labeled "ANTENNA" (C, Figure 7).
8. Install the compensator bracket assembly by inserting the two notches in the bracket upper legs over the two threaded studs-and on top of the flange nuts-and allow it to hang (A, Figure 8).
9. Loosely secure the bracket lower leg to the reinforcement rib with an M6 x 18 sheet metal screw into the Tinnermann clip (B, Figure 8).
Note:
The bracket bottom fastening point is not visible in the Figure 8.
10. Slide the bracket forward as much as possible and then fully tighten the two M5 flange nuts (A, Figure 8).
11. Fully tighten the M6 x 18 sheet metal screw on the assembly lower leg.
