Drive Belt: Service and Repair

Remove Poly V-belt, Install

Shown On Engine 112.961:

Removing
1 Slacken poly V-belt (1) and take it off the tensioning pulley
- Swivel torx bolt (2) at tensioning pulley (3) in anti-clockwise direction for this step. Lock tensioning pulley with pin or drift (5 mm diameter).

2 Unbolt bracket (4) at guide pulley (5)

Bolt Of Guide Pulley To Supercharger - 20 N.m

3 Take poly V-belt (1) off the remaining pulleys

Check
4 Inspect belt pulley and tensioning device for damage and dirt
5 Inspect poly V-belt (1)

NOTE: For damage patterns refer to: Inspect condition of poly V-belt, replace if necessary.

Installing
6 Fit poly V-belt onto the pulleys of the supercharger and the generator
7 Bolt on guide pulley (5) and bracket (4)

Bolt Of Guide Pulley To Supercharger - 20 N.m

8 Fit on poly V-belt (1), tension

NOTE: Begin at tensioning pulley in the numerical order of the relevant running diagram : Running diagram of poly V-belt

CAUTION: Do not use belt wax or similar products.
