A 3.5 mm standard jack socket is installed in the glove compartment which can be used to connect a commercially-available Walkman. The audio signals are pre-amplified by the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) and the desired sound settings (volume, bass, treble and fader) undertaken.
The sound amplifier (A2/13) with code (810) only is responsible for final amplification of the signals before they are output via the vehicle loudspeakers (see figure).
