Evaporator Case: Description and Operation

Design:

Purpose
The A/C housing serves for holding the following components
- Air guide flaps (1 and 5-8)
- Vacuum element for fresh air/recirculated air flap
- Dust filter (20)
- Blower (21)
- Evaporator (22)
- Heater core (23)
- Expansion valve
forming one complete unit.

The A/C housing distributes the air required for ventilation of the vehicle to the appropriate air ducts and air outlets depending on the desired temperature in the passenger compartment.

The air distribution depends on various operating states such as:
- Normal operation
- A/C mode
- Heating mode
