Multifunction Steering Wheel Controls:
General
The active service system can be controlled with the reset button for the instrument cluster (A1) located on the right side of the instrument cluster (A1) and with the scroll forward/back pushbutton (S110s1) as well as the system select/voice control pushbutton (S110s3) on the multifunction steering wheel.
Service display on driver request
- Ignition switch in position "1", "2" for drive position.
- Press system select/voice control pushbutton (S110s3) as often as required until basic display (total and trip mileage) appear on multifunction display (A1p13).
(Only required if basic display is not yet shown).
- Press scroll forward/back pushbutton (S110s1) as many times as required until service symbol and current remaining mileage, remaining time or service exceeded display appears.
Oil quantity display
- Turn ignition switch to position "2".
- Press system select/voice control pushbutton (S110s3) as often as required until basic display (total and trip mileage) appear on multifunction display (A1p13).
(Only required if basic display is not yet shown).
- Press scroll forward/back pushbutton (S110s1) as many times as required until oil can symbol and message "ENGINE OIL LEVEL, VEHICLE MUST BE LEVEL" appears on multifunction display (A1p13).
- If the car is not parked level: Discontinue measurement by pressing this button again within 3 seconds.
- If the measurement is not interrupted, the message "ENGINE OIL LEVEL CHECK RUNNING" appears after approx. 3 seconds followed by the current oil level message. If the vehicle is not parked level during the check, erroneous measurements can occur.
Resetting ASSYST following oil change (oil change reset) on instrument cluster (A1)
CAUTION:
Reset ASSYST (oil change reset) only after completing oil change!
If possible the oil change reset should be accomplished only with the STAR DIAGNOSIS tool!
- Turn ignition switch to position "1".
- Press system select/voice control pushbutton (S110s3) as often as required until basic display (total and trip mileage) appear on multifunction display (A1p13).
(Only required if basic display is not yet shown).
- Press scroll forward/back pushbutton (S110s1) as many times as required until service symbol and current remaining mileage, remaining time or service exceeded message appears.
- Press reset button on instrument cluster (A1) for approx. 3 seconds until the confirmation "DO YOU REALLY WANT TO RESET SERVICE INTERVAL? CONFIRM WITH R BUTTON" appears on the multifunction display (A1p13).
- Press reset button on instrument cluster (A1) again within 5 seconds.
- The current "Remaining mileage" of 15000 kilometers or 10000 miles appears on the multifunction display (A1p13).
NOTE: If the oil change reset is performed accidentally it can only be changed back with the STAR DIAGNOSIS tool.
