Maintenance Indicator, Remaining Mileage Function

The remaining mileage up to the time for the next maintenance service is calculated starting with the total mileage set at the factory.

The total mileage in this case means the specified mileage between two maintenance intervals. It can be set between 5000 km (3000 miles) and 20,000 km (15,000 miles) with the HHT. The remaining mileage means the distance which can still be driven before the next maintenance service is due.

Example: Starting with the values
- Total mileage = 15,000 km (factory setting)
- Mileage driven since last maintenance = 10,000 km, equals:

Remaining mileage = 15,000 km - 10,000 km = 5,000 km

Moreover, a warning threshold between 1000 km (or 1000 miles) and 6000 km (or 6000 miles) can be set with the HHT for the remaining mileage. The maintenance indicator comes on automatically beginning at this setting. This warning threshold is set at the factory to 2000 km (or 2000 miles).

Remaining mileage display
- at driver request
- automatically, with starter switch in position 2 after 5 sec. or while driving after reaching the warning threshold:
The tool symbol and the current remaining mileage appears for 10 sec.
- automatically, with starter switch in position 2 after 5 sec. or while driving when the remaining mileage has been exceeded: In this case the display flashes and the "remaining mileage" is indicated with a negative sign (minus sign). After reaching the display overrun at -99,000 km (or 99,000 miles) the display remains at this value!

The remaining mileage is displayed to a resolution of 100 km (or 100 miles).

Normally the remaining mileage is always displayed. However, to ensure that "occasional drivers" are also made aware when maintenance service is due, the mileage and time information is always processed in the background.

The remaining mileage is compared with the remaining time daily. When the time criterion has reached the priority level the display switches over to the remaining time.

The data remains stored even in the event of an operating voltage failure.
