1. Fix steering wheel in center position
- Use a support with soft foam steering wheels
- Install holder (055) tool No. 129 589 01 21 00, or equivalent.
- If the holder is installed for a long period, pressure marks on the steering wheel are avoided
2. Check center position of steering gear and steering wheel
- The steering gear is in the center position when the clamping slot of the steering coupling and the marking line of the steering gear (1) are opposite each other.
- Offset the steering wheel by a maximum of one tooth, if necessary.
3. Install, then remove wheel spreader (030) on the inside of the wheel in the forward direction of travel
NOTE: The flexible mount of the wishbones results in a correspondingly large toe-in value which reduces to the correct dimension in the ready to drive conditions
ADJUSTMENT
4. Adjust toe-in by rotating the track rods (10) Observe swivelling range of track rods (10)
