Replacing Engine Air Admission Housing






1. Remove the radiator and the tensioning device. Refer to Cooling System.
2. Unbolt power steering pump (5) with piping/wiring connected
3. Unscrew bracket (28) at combination support (17).
4. On models with A/C, unbolt A/C compressor (38) with piping connected, swivel to the side.
5. On all models, detach vent pipe (7) at combination support.
6. Remove coolant drain pipe (29).
7. Unscrew and clean combination support (17).
8. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
- place gasket (41)

NOTE: As of 7/95 the gasket has been modeled. As a result of the modified gasket, the dowel sleeves for fixing the engine air admission housing in place have been discontinued. On engines with dowel sleeves, remove dowel sleeves and install new gasket without dowel sleeves.

- With engine running, check for leaks.
- Ensure that the combination support (17) and bracket fasteners are tightened to 21 Nm.
- Ensure that the air admission housing to crankcase fasteners are tightened to 21 Nm.
