Control Functions
Warm-up Control Temperature Chart:
WARM-UP CONTROL FUNCTION
In order to bring the TWC to its operating temperature quicker, the engine speed is increased for approximately 20 seconds to between 1150 ± 100 rpm every time the engine is started at ECT less than 20 °C in PNP.
A/C ENGAGEMENT CONTROL FUNCTION
When the A/C compressor is turned on, voltage is supplied to pin 11 of the ECM. The ECM processes the voltage signal and activates the actuator motor (M16/6m1) in the ISC actuator (M16.6). The throttle valve opening is increased before the A/C compressor engages. This keeps the engine idle speed at a nearly constant RPM.
THROTTLE VALVE DAMPING FUNCTION
If the accelerator pedal is released suddenly, above a throttle position angle of 8°, the throttle valve closes gradually into its idle speed position.
The ECM processes the following information for idle speed control:
- Engine speed
- Engine Coolant Temperature
- Throttle valve position
- Vehicle speed signal (VSS)
