Idle Speed Control Actuator
PURPOSEThe idle speed control actuator (M16/6) operates the throttle valve at idle.
Idle Speed Control Actuator (M16/6):
CONSTRUCTION
The idle speed control (ISC) actuator consists of the throttle valve, actuator motor (M16/6m1), closed throttle position switch (M16/6s1), throttle valve actual value potentiometer (M16/6r1) and a drive actual value potentiometer (M16/6r2).
OPERATION
The actuator motor (M16/6m1) is activated by the control module with frequencies between 360 and 600 Hz. The motor is mechanically connected to the throttle valve and has an adjustment range of approx. 0 to 10°. The throttle valve actual value potentiometer (M16/6r1) sends a throttle valve position signal to the HFM SFI control module. The drive actual value potentiometer (M16/6r2) sends a motor drive position signal to the HFM SFI control module. The closed throttle position switch (M16/6s1) sends a signal to the HFM SFI control module when the throttle is in the idle position.
