MODEL 124.092 M.Y. 1994/1995 INSTALLATION OF CD CHANGER
1. Remove hardware from shipping box and verify contents.
2. Remove shipping screws (2) from CD changer. Place shipping screws in ID card bag. Cover screws holes with dust covers (Figure 1).
3. Open right cargo panel and remove first aid kit.
4. Carefully peel back insulating material from backside of panel.
5. Cut out recessed box on backside of panel. Cut along groove at a 45° angle (arrows, Figure 2). Carefully peel plastic away from carpeting and make a slit in carpeting to allow harness connector to be passed through.
6. On backside of panel, in first aid kit compartment, measure and mark drill holes as per dimensions shown in Figure 3.
7. Mark and punch locations. Drill with a 6 mm bit.
8. Place bracket over mounting holes. Place CD changer mount on front of panel over carpeting. Align fastening holes and secure with # 10 truss- head screws.
Note:
Prior to securing bracket, place a strip of masking tape on sill carpeting of panel so as to mark locations for bottom fastening points.
9. With bracket and upper mount secured, mark locations of bottom fastening points onto masking tape. Remove bracket and mount. Punch and drill locations with a 6 mm drill bit. Failure to secure upper mount will result in improperly located bottom fastening holes.
10. Locate CD harness. Route connector end through windshield washer reservoir handle (arrow, Figure 5), through the door cut-out and slit in carpeting. Replace insulating material.
11. Fasten CD changer to CD mount and secure with four screws. CD changer is in its correct position if the red Attention sticker is facing inwards.
12. Connect harness connector to CD changer.
13. Reposition CD mount and bracket. Finger tighten two screws for bracket. Tightly secure three bottom screws and washers. Fasten down two upper mounting screws.
14. Replace first aid kit and close right cargo panel.
15. Install CD changer cover.
16. Install CD magazine in to CD changer unit.
17. Test function.
