HFM General Information

The hot film engine management - sequential multiport fuel injection/ignition system (HFM-SFI) is a further development of LH sequential multiport fuel injection system (LH-SFI) and the known distributor ignition system (formerly known as EZL)

HFM = Hot Film Engine Management
SFI = Sequential Multiport Fuel Injection

The engine control module (N3/4) for HFM-SFI incorporates the control of the fuel injection and ignition systems into one module.

The engine 111 in this model is certified as a Transitional low Emission Vehicle (TLEV) for MY 1995. The modified camshafts are part of the TLEV requirements.

The increased idle speed after starting the engine was eliminated.
