Rear Door Window Glass: Adjustments

Preliminary work:
Door liner on rear door removed.





Vapor seal on interior door panel
pull off.
Crank window
close and check clearance at top between window guide channel and outer edge of window with 0.3 mm feeler gauge.
Adjustment
correct with stop at top of interior door panel, figure 2.
Lateral clearance
measure with window closed. Nominal value: 0.3 mm.
Adjustment
correct on window stay.
Covering on inside of window stay
remove.
Door sealing frame
pull out of channel in area of window stay, top.
Screws at top and bottom of window stay
loosen, figure 3.
Window stay
adjust so that vertical clearance between window guide channel and outer edge of glass is 0.3 mm at front and rear.
Screws at top and bottom of window stay
tighten.
Door sealing frame
install.
Screws on inside of window stay
(3 each) loosen.
Cover on stationary window
press toward rear and tighten screws.
Interior covering on window stay
install.
Slider on window lift bar
lubricate, use MB paste lubricant part number 000 989 31 51.
Door liner on rear door
install
Function
check.





Special tools

Adjustment







1 Close crank window.
2 Check clearance at top between window guide channel and outer edge of glass. Use special tool (0.3 mm feeler gauge).
3 If adjustment is required, open crank window and adjust upper stop. See next step.






Check clearance at top







4 Loosen screw on upper window lift stop and correct clearance by moving stop.







5 Check clearance between vertical window guide channel and outer edge of glass. Clearance should be 0.3 mm at front and rear.
6 Move window stay to correct clearance (step 14).







7 Install cover on inside of window stay.
8 Pull out sealing frame in area of window stay.







9 Loosen screws (arrows) on window stay.
10 Adjust window stay so that vertical clearance between window guide channel and outer edge of glass is 0.3 mm at front and rear.







11 Tighten screws at top and bottom of window stay.
12 Install sealing frame.







13 Loosen screws (arrows) on inside of window stay and press cover on window stay toward rear, then retighten screws.
14 Install cover on inside of window stay.
15 Lubricate slider on window lift bar with MB Lubricant Paste part no. 000 989 31 51.
16 Check automatic closing operation.
17 Install door liner.
