B. Models 140.042/043/051/070 (With Engine 119)

1. Lift vehicle and remove left front wheel.

2. Remove front and rear encapsulation panel from below engine.

3. Drain engine coolant at drain plug on left side of engine block. Drain coolant into a suitable container for reuse later.

4. Remove poly-V-belt from compressor pulley. Remove A/C compressor mounting screws and move compressor forward, without disconnecting compressor hoses.

5. Remove core plug (arrow, Figure 4) with a 22 mm 6-point socket. To do so, insert socket only into core plug. From wheelwell, insert socket wrench extension through opening between sub-frame and body, subsequently engaging extension in socket. Remove core plug.

6. Install block heater (arrow, Figure 5) using rubber Oring from the installation kit and not the alloy washer supplied. Tighten block heater with a 46 mm socket using the method described in step 5 above.

Tightening torque: 70 Nm

7. Attach electrical cable to block heater.

8. Reinstall A/C compressor and poly-V-belt.

9. Route electrical cable along transmission oil cooler line (B. Figure 6) to front of vehicle and attach with cable ties (arrows).

Note:
Be sure to route electrical cable along bottom of oil cooler line (B, Figure 6) otherwise there will be insufficient clearance to the poly-V-belt (A), secure with cable ties (arrows).

10. Route cable plug to a convenient location as per customer preference. Secure cable and plug with cable ties.

Note:
Ensure that cable is routed away from moving engine parts and sources of high heat.

11. Close coolant drain plug.

Tightening torque: 30 Nm

12. Reinstall encapsulation panels.

13. Test coolant for sufficient antifreeze protection, refill and bleed cooling system. Pressure test System for leaks (Figure 7).

14. Run engine. Check for proper coolant level.
