Remove/Install Cover on Driver's Seat Backrest

Preliminary work:
Driver's backrest removed. Refer to "Replacement of Driver's Seat Backrest". Service and Repair







Driver's seat backrest
place on a suitable base.
Screws (arrows)
screw out.
Rear panel of backrest (1)
remove.
Cloth apron
unhook and remove.
Adjusting wheel (3) and lower surround (4)
detach. Observe installation note!
Panelling (5)
remove.
Panelling (6)
remove and pull out lead (7) on panelling (6).
Cover (8)
detach all round.
Additional lower cloth loosening
remove from the plug-in fold.
Transverse loosening device (9)
detach at the top and remove.
Backrest frame (10)
remove from rubberized hair support (16).
Plastic hooks (13) on transverse and longitudinal loosening device
unhook.
Lateral nettle strips
detach.
Plastic ring (14) on inner head restraint eye (15)
separate and remove.
Head restaint eyes (15)
remove.
Cover (8)
remove from rubberized hair mat (16).
Reinstall
in reverse order.


Installation note
Adjusting wheel (3) must be replaced after each disassembly.


Removal, Installation







1 Place driver's seat backrest on a suitable base and remove screws (arrows).
2 Remove rear panel (1).







3 Unhook cloth apron (2) (arrows) and remove.







4 Detach adjusting wheel (3) and below surround (4).
5 Remove panelling (5).







6 Remove panelling (6) and pull out cable (7) from panelling (6).







7 Unhook cover (8) all around (arrows).







8 Pull out additional length of fabric clamped into groove (arrows).







9 Unhook transverse clamping bracket (9) at the top and remove (arrows).







10 Remove backrest frame from rubberized hair mat.







11 Detach plastic hooks from transverse and longitudinal clamping (arrow).
12 Detach side nettle strips from rubberized hair mat.
















Driver's seat backrest - ready to install


13 Separate plastic ring on inner head restraint eye (arrows) and remove head restraint eye.
14 Remove cover from rubberized hair mat.
15 Reinstall in reverse order.
