Driver's Seat Backrest

Preliminary work:
Driver's seat removed.
Cover on seat guide rails removed.







Seat cushion
turn toward front using adjusting wheel (1).
Adjusting wheel (1), handle (2) and switch (3)
detach or remove upwards and detach cable. Adhere to installation note!
Screws (arrows) on panelling (4)
screw out.
Panelling (4)
remove toward front.
Cable (5) on plug connector
remove and expose.
Screws (arrows) on panelling (6)
screw out.
Panelling (6)
remove.
Screw (7) on belt buckle
screw out. 35 Nm.
Rubber tensioners on lower seat cushion frame
detach and expose cloth apron (9).
Screws (arrows) on left and right of backrest fitting
screw out, WAF 17 or internal Torx T 50 Nm: 50
Backrest (10)
remove from seat adjuster (11).
Reinstall
in opposite order.


Installation note
Adjusting wheel (1) must be replaced after disassembly.


Removal, installation







1 Position seat cushion toward front using the adjusting wheel (1).
2 Detach adjusting wheel (1) and handle (2).
3 Remove switch (3) upwards and detach cable.







4 Unscrew screws (arrows) on panelling (4).
5 Remove panelling (4) toward front.







6 Remove cable (5) on plug connector and expose (arrows).







7 Unscrew screws (arrows) on panelling (6) and remove panelling (6) upwards.







8 Unscrew screw (7) and remove belt buckle (8) from bracket.
Tightening torque: 35 Nm.







9 Unhook rubber tensioners (arrows) on lower seat cushion frame and expose cloth apron (9).







10 Screw out screws (arrows) on left-hand backrest fitting.
Tightening torque: 50 Nm.







11 Screw out screws (arrows) on right-hand backrest fitting.
Tightening torque: 50 Nm.











Driver's seat adjuster without driver's seat backrest


12 Remove backrest (10) from seat adjuster.
13 Reinstall in opposite order.
