Evaporative Emission Control Canister: Testing and Inspection

Evaporative Emission Control System Schematic:

NOTE: Test should be conducted with engine at normal operating temperature.

1. Check for damaged components, cracked hoses, and loose connections and verify that the vacuum lines are routed correctly. Remove the bulkhead at the rear of the left front wheel housing, if necessary.
2. Connect a vacuum gauge with "Y" fitting between the purge switchover valve and the charcoal canister.
3. Start the engine and slowly accelerate to approximately 3000 RPM.

^ No vacuum must be indicated on the vacuum gauge. If vacuum is indicated, replace the charcoal canister.
