EGR Control Solenoid: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
The LH control unit controls exhaust gas recirculation via the EGR switchover valve (Y27). The switchover valve connects the EGR valve to vacuum from the throttle valve assembly.

LOCATION
The valve is located in engine compartment on passenger side front corner of vehicle.

OPERATION
When the LH control unit energizes the switchover valve, the valve opens and vacuum reaches the EGR valve.
