C. Model 201 Transmitter/Receiver

1. Remove left rear taillamp assembly and wheel well liner.





2. Place two rubber strips on the bottom and top transmitter - receiver brackets. Assemble transmitter - receiver bracket using two screws (arrows) and tighten (Fig. 20).





3. Place bracket in left rear wheel well. Bracket should be placed on 45° rise with forward edge of mounting plate flush with the crease (arrows, Fig. 21). The rear edge of the mounting plate should be over the weld sealer seam.

4. With bracket in place, mark four hole locations. Punch and drill four 5.0 mm holes. Remove any metal shavings and apply zinc dust paint to bare metal edges.





5. Measure and mark area to be cut out from wheel liner as per Figure 22. Remove material using snips.

6. Fasten transmitter - receiver bracket with 5.0 mm bolt and nut (insert bolt and washer from underneath vehicle and secure with star washer and nut from inside trunk).

7. Disconnect the radio antenna lead from antenna splitter. Check for continuity from the antenna mast tube to vehicle chassis with an Ohmmeter. If the nominal value is [greater than] 0.3 Ohm loosen the lower antenna mounting screw and then tighten the mast tube nut until value is [less than or equal to] 0.3 Ohm. Tighten lower mounting screw. Reconnect radio antenna lead to splitter.

Note:
Failure to perform this step will lead to poor telephone performance and/or interference to other vehicle electronic systems.

8. Connect one end of antenna lead cable to "Telefon" connection on antenna splitter.

9. Connect 1-pole female connector from telephone harness to 1-pole male connector on antenna (behind 4-pole connector).

10. Replace liner into wheel well. Ensure that the antenna lead cable and transmitter - receiver harness are routed behind the liner. Guide connector ends out from behind panel at point indicated by the arrow (Fig. 22). Secure transmitter - receiver harness and antenna lead cable with cable ties.

11. Connect harness connector to transmitter - receiver and secure with thumbscrews. Connect other end of antenna lead cable to transmitter - receiver.





12. Install transmitter - receiver into bracket, ensure that the pin connector is on top. Secure transmitter - receiver bracket with third screw.

13. Reinstall taillamp assembly.

14. Place transmitter - receiver cover in place in wheel well.

15. Install 8A fuse in auxiliary fuse box.

16. Reconnect negative battery terminal.

17. Recode radio.

18. Program telephone.

19. Test function.
