1. Remove trunk mat, left trunk panel and taillamp assembly.2. Install transmitter - receiver in bracket
3. Remove tape backing from transmitter - receiver foam padding. Attach foam padding to transmitter - receiver as shown in Figure 21.
4. Disconnect the radio antenna lead from antenna splitter. Check for continuity from the antenna mast tube to vehicle chassis with an Ohm meter. If the nominal value is [greater than] 0.3 Ohm, loosen the lower antenna mounting screw and then tighten the mast tube nut until value is [less than or equal to] 0.3 Ohm. Tighten lower mounting screw. Reconnect radio antenna lead to splitter.
Note:
Failure to perform this step will lead to poor telephone performance and/or interference to other vehicle electronic systems.
5. Connect one end of the antenna lead cable to the transmitter receiver, the other end to the "Telefon" connection on the splitter box.
6. Connect adapter harness as follows:
a. female speaker connector to male speaker connector near white 4-pole transmitter - receiver power connector
b. 1-pole male antenna control connector to antenna (behind 4-pole antenna connector)
c. transmitter - receiver data connector to transmitter receiver
d. adapter harness connector to vehicle transmitter - receiver data harness
7. Connect white 4-pole connector (power supply) to transmitter - receiver.
8. Secure transmitter - receiver/bracket assembly to left side of trunk with two screws as shown in Figure 23.

9. Secure adapter harness to inside of trunk using cable ties.
10. Reinstall left wheel well liner and taillamp assembly.
11. Install 7.5A fuse in auxiliary fuse box (located in trunk, behind panel in right trunk liner).
12. Reconnect negative battery terminal.
13. Program telephone.
14. Recode radio.
15. Resynchronize window settings.
16. Test function.
