Shift Interlock Cable: Adjustments

ADJUSTING AND CHECKING PARKING LOCK





Adjusting
Selector lever
Move to position "P".
Ball nipple (43)
Clip into lock lever (44).
Tube clamp (41) with cable (40)
Insert into holder on bearing bracket and attach retaining bolt (42).
Cable (40)
Pull jacket in direction of arrow until lock lever (44) rests against cam (48).
Retaining bolt (42)
Tighten, 5 Nm.

Testing After Adjustment





Brake pedal
depressed > or = 5 mm.
Lock lever (44)
Must disengage fully from cam disk (48) so that the selector lever handle can be moved into position "N" without resistance. The parking lock is unlocked.
Brake pedal
Not depressed.
Selector level handle
Move from position "N" to position "P"; locking lever (44) must engage in cam (48). The parking lock is locked.
