SUBJECT: GEAR SHIFT PATTERN CHANGE MODELS 124 AND 201

FIGURE 1:

As of January 1988 production, the reverse gear shift gate is moved to the left side of the gear shift pattern.

This change simplifies the downshifting from 5th to 4th gear.

When shifting into reverse no longer is the gear shift lever pushed down but rather pulled up.

FIGURE 2:

During repairs, the ashift rods must be reconnected in the following sequence:

1. shift rod 3 - 4
2. shift rod 1 - 2
3. shift rod 5 - R

Final adjustment of shift rods remains unchanged.
