Housing For Heater Blower, Removal/Installation

for subsequent installation into front wall

Removal
1 Remove wiper system
2 Remove cover under instrument panel







3 Unscrew screws on unit partition and push partition slightly forward.







4 Unscrew screws on cover and remove cover.







5 Loosen cable straps on connecting cable of blower and pull off plug connection.
6 Remove battery.







7 Remove heater valve.







8 Disengage actuating cable control for main air flap.







9 Unbend reinforcing rail in range of upper two fastening screws with turning fork (self-made)to the extent that a socket wrench can be applied to remove the screws.


NOTE: If the nut is turning along, insert screwdriver between blower housing and front wall and push blower housing slightly forward.







10 Unscrew the two lower fastening nuts from direction of vehicle interior.







11 Remove lateral partition.
12 Remove blower housing in direction of front passenger side.


Installation







13 Enlarg6 the two upper holes to a dia. of 9 mm and insert folding rivet nuts M 6.


NOTE: While drilling, make sure that the heater box is not damaged. Coat edges of holes with zinc dust paint and remove drilling chips.


14 Insert blower housing and screw down, paying attention to correct location of seal.
15 For further installation proceed vice versa.
