A. Revised Procedure and Values for Testing Supplement Restraint System (SRS)

The test procedure outlined on the fold-out card supplied with SRS tester 126 589 10 21 00 has been changed as follows:

Test step 2: Test duration of 30 seconds minimum was added.

Test step 7: Depending on the combination of sensor/energy accumulator there are different capacitance values.

Test step 10: Was deleted.

For further information and the correct test procedure, please refer to pages 32 to 49 of section "Model 107, 123, and 126" in the Introduction Manual, 1984.

Please discard the fold-out that cane with the tester, and replace it with the enclosed revised card.

B. Voltage Regulator Location

It has been determined that in rare cases and additional (non-wired) voltage transformer was installed behind the right front kick panel of SRS equipped 126 models. The correct location for all U.S.A. vehicles is under the left side of the dash (see Introduction Manual, 1984). The kick panel location indicated in the Service Microfiche is for Non-USA 126 models.

If found installed, the non-wired regulator should simply be removed from U.S.A. vehicles. The situation is corrected as of chassis number 126-1A-051047.

Future microfiche will indicate the correct location.
