Engine - Oil Dipstick Incorrect

SUBJECT: CHECEKING ENGINE OIL DIPSTICK MODEL 107.045


It is possible that engine oil dipsticks with an incorrect distance between the minimum and maximum marks were installed during August to November, 1983 production.

If one of these vehicles is brought in for service or repairs, the oil dipstick must be checked. Dimension "A" (Figure 1) must be 39 mm.. Off dipsticks with A=30 mm must be replaced under warranty.

NOTE: Replacement of dipsticks must also be checked prior to installation.

IMPORTANT: All stock of oil dipsticks (Part no. 116 010 18 72) must be checked for the proper "A" dimension (Figure 1). Dipsticks with A=30 mm should be returned with AFA form MBNA 512.
