FIGURE 1:
Prior to installing a replacement cylinder head, the core hole (arrow) must be capped with a special freeze-out plug which has to be ordered separately.
Coat the outer diameter of the freeze-out plug with sealing compound, Loctite 241 (002 989 94 71) and tap into core hole with mandrel, part no. 102 589 02 15 00, until the tool contacts the cylinder head..
CAUTION! If the core hole (arrow) is not closed, coolant may be drawn into the cylinders past the intake manifold gasket.
