SUBJECT: ENGINE OIL CHANGE QUANTITY - ENGINE 601


When changing the engine oil and filter during regular servicing, the proper oil quantity is 6.5 ltr. or approximately 7 quarts.

To check the correct filling quantity after the oil change, run the engine to operating temperature, shut it down and wait 5 minutes. Remove dipstick and, if necessary, fill to upper mark with engine oil.

All other technical publications (i.e., Maintenance Manual, Owner's Manual, etc.) showing 6 quarts of oil filling capacity (oil and filter change) are invalid and will be revised.
