SUBJECT:

RECODE ENGINE TYPE IN ASSYST (MAINTENANCE SYSTEM) CONTROL MODULE

This Service Campaign has been initiated because DAG has determined that the ASSYST system may not have been coded correctly. As a result, the low oil level light may not illuminate in the instrument cluster in cases of low oil level. The dealer will recode the ASSYST and top off the engine oil level on the affected vehicles to correct this situation during the next workshop visit.

Prior to performing this Service Campaign:

^ Please check VMI to determine if the vehicle is involved in the Campaign and if it has been previously repaired.

^ Please review the entire Service Campaign bulletin and follow the repair procedure exactly as described.

Please note that Recall and Service Campaigns do not expire and may also be performed on a vehicle with a vehicle status indicator.

Approximately 12 vehicles are affected.
