Guidance consists of making up and outputting driving recommendations in order to guide the driver to the desired destination. Prerequisites for guidance are:
Continuous location finding in operation (accomplished automatically),
destination entered and
route calculation completed.
The navigation processor continuously compares the route calculation data with the data from continuous location finding and determines the measures for further guidance from this comparison.
NOTE: The navigation processor is integrated into the radio and navigation unit (A2/56).
Two types of guidance are possible depending on the location of the vehicle.
guidance within digitized CD-ROM map area and
limited guidance outside of digitized CD-ROM map area.
