UNINTENDED POWER DOOR LOCK OPERATION

All 1999 Proteges with (power door locks) VINs lower than JM1BJ22**XO1155941 / September 9, 1998.
DESCRIPTION
Due to the location of the power door lock switch, the customer may unintentionally lock the vehicle when exiting. A modified part is available to resolve this concern.
Customers complaining of this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Verify customer complaint.
2. Verify that door lock system functions correctly.
3. Replace the power door lock switch with a modified part according to the Workshop Manual (section 09).
4. Verify repair.
