ALL 1999 Millenia
DESCRIPTION
Some vehicles may exhibit a knock/thump/clunk noise from the front suspension area when turning over bumps, driving over rough roads at slow speeds and/or when applying the brakes. The noise appears to be more noticeable during colder temperatures. Cold temperatures can cause poor sealing of the front suspension, lower arm, rear bushing, resulting in deterioration of the bushing.
Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Verify customer concern.
2. Replace lower arm bushing (rear) on both sides of the vehicle.
See Workshop Manual (section 02-13-5 FRONT LOWER ARM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION).
Caution:
^ To prevent any further noise, be sure to position the bushing so that the protrusion is facing up as shown below.
3. Verify repair.
