Fuel Hold Pressure Test
FUEL PUMP FUEL HOLD PRESSURE TESTWARNING: Fuel line spills and leaks are dangerous. Fuel can ignite and cause serious injuries or death and damage. Always carry out the following procedure with the engine stopped.
1. Complete the "BEFORE REPAIR PROCEDURE". (Refer to SERVICE PRECAUTIONS.)
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Connect a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel pump and plug the outlet of the gauge as shown. (Install clamps as shown.)
4. Connect the negative battery cable.
5. Connect the data link connector terminals F/P and GND by using a jumper wire.
CAUTION: Connecting the wrong data link connector terminals may possibly cause a malfunction. Carefully connect the specified terminals only.
Fuel pump fuel hold pressure: More than 147 kPa (1.50 kgf/sq.cm, 21.3 Psi)
8. Disconnect the jumper wire.
9. If not as specified, replace the fuel pump.
10. Complete the "AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE". (Refer toSERVICE PRECAUTIONS.)
