Wiper Motor: Testing and Inspection

1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK while the windshield wiper is operating. Verify that the windshield wiper does not stop in the proper park position.
2. Disconnect the windshield wiper motor connector.
3. Inspect for continuity between the windshield wiper motor terminals by using an ohmmeter.




EXCEPT PARK POSITION

4. Connect the windshield wiper motor connector.
5. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
6. Turn the windshield wiper switch off while the windshield wiper is operating. Verify that the windshield wiper stops in the park position.
7. Disconnect the windshield wiper motor connector.




8. Inspect for continuity between the windshield wiper motor terminals by using an ohmmeter.




PARK POSITION




9. Apply battery positive voltage and check the operation of the windshield wiper motor as indicated below.
10. If not as specified, replace the windshield wiper motor.
