Rear



Disc Pad Thickness Inspection

1. Jack up the rear of the vehicle and support it on safety stands.

2. Remove the wheel and tires.





3. Verify the remaining thickness of the pads.

Thickness: 1.0 mm (0.039 inch) min.


Disc Plate Thickness Inspection





1. Measure the thickness of the disc plate.

CAUTION: When it is necessary to machine the disc plate, if the disc plate is removed from the vehicle then machined, excessive runout may result. Machine the disc plate with it installed on the vehicle.

Standard: 9 mm (0.3543 inch)
Minimum: 7 mm (0.2756 inch)
Minimum thickness after machining by using a brake lathe on-vehicle: 7.8 mm (0.3071 inch)


2. If the thickness is not within the specification, replace the disc plate.


Disc Plate Runout Inspection

1. Verify that there is no looseness in the wheel bearing.





2. Measure the runout at the outer edge of the contact surface of the disc pad.

Runout: 0.5 mm (0.002 inch) max.

3. If the runout is not within the specification, repair or replace the disc plate.
