Removal

1. On models with anti-theft audio system, refer to Technician Safety Information for system deactivation procedure.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable, then drain engine oil into suitable container.
3. Remove righthand splash shield, then front pipe.
4. Remove oil pan bolts, then remove sealant from bolt threads.
5. Screw bolt into oil pan to make small gap between block and oil pan, then insert suitable screwdriver or seal cutter between cylinder block and oil pan to separate them.
6. Remove oil pan, then oil strainer from oil pan.
