Installation

If old oil pan bolts are used, remove old sealant from
bolt threads. Tightening a bolt with old sealant on it can cause thread damage.
1. Install new gasket and oil strainer onto oil pump body. Tighten oil pump bolts to specifications.
2. Apply suitable silicone sealant to oil pan flange, then install. Install oil pan within five minutes of sealant application.
3. Torque oil pan A bolts to 14 - 18 ft. lb., then the other bolts to 70 - 95 ft.lb., Fig. 24.
4. Fill engine with suitable engine oil as specified, then start engine and check for leaks. Check oil level and adjust as necessary.
