Thermostat: Testing and Inspection

THERMOSTAT INSPECTION


Inspect the thermostat for the following and replace as necessary.

1. Visually inspect that the thermostat valve is airtight.
2. Place the thermostat and a thermometer in water.
3. Heat the water gradually and inspect for the following.

Opening Temperature:
Initial-opening temperature:
80 - 84°C (176 - 183°F)
Full-open temperature:
100°C (203°F)






Full-open lift:
8.5 mm (0.33 inch) min.
